![]() ![]() The ceramic bezel is black, uni directional and 120 clicks. The hands carry the same white lume/mirrored silver design as the indexes. The indexes are all fully lumed and the dial is very easy to read both in daylight and darkness, due to the clarity of the markers. The hand applied indexes are white with silver borders and the silver itself has mirror like reflection - these indexes therefore play with the light beautifully but the anti reflective crystal prevents any compromise of visibility. It is a very eye catching feature, more so when combined with the supplementary colours of black, white and silver. TAG Heuer describe the colour as anthracite, after the sub-metallic coal. ![]() As you can see, the dial is a beautiful sunburst chrome. I feel this is the biggest sized watch I could get away with, but think the watch wears well and doesn't look oversized at all.Īesthetically I think it's an extremely pleasing watch. Here is a picture of it on my wrist, size 6.5". It is water resistant to 200m, has a screw down crown and a sapphire crystal. Specification wise, it has a 43mm stainless steel case excluding the crown, a height of 11mm, lug to lug it's 48mm with a lug width of 22mm. No doubt a more learned member of the forum can fill me in! I have time tested the watch against the atomic clock via the Emerald Time Stamp app last week and have recorded a loss of approximately 4 to 5 seconds per 24hrs. I believe I'm right in saying these movements undergo some modifications/upgrades in house. I'm anything but an expert on watch movements, but I can advise that it is 25 Jewel, 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) with quick set date, manual wind, hacking and a 38 hour power reserve. Starting with the movement, it carries a Swiss ETA 2824. So, this is the reference number WAZ2011, which retails for £1,400 new. ![]() I've had this watch for almost a year and I know TAG is a bit marmite among the watch fraternity, however I have very much enjoyed owning and wearing this piece and wanted to show it some love and share some of the finer details with you, I hope you find it vaguely interesting! This is my first attempt at a review, and I wanted to cover my TAG Heuer Formula 1, Calibre 5 Automatic. ![]()
